Just looked on the offical website and nice to see it is as up to date as ever. If you had just looked on there you would believe the game was still on. And that's over half an hour since the news appeared on here.If you didn't know this forum existed I think you would be lucky to even know that the football club existed!!!

When are they going to get their act together and realise that communication is everything.

I had a phone call at 1.45 saying it was off and I have just heard it on BBC Wilts at 2.45. Another fine example of info coming out of the club - I bet a lot of people have gone to the ground this afternoon only to be disappointed.

Just walked to the game only to discover that it had been called off at 13:45hrs. Why so late ? if the pitch in the front of the stand was frozen this morning then there was no way it would be playable this afternoon as the sun doesn't get to because of the stand. I take it that the club will have to pay Cambridge's expences as it was called off so late.

The knock-on effect of these very late postponements or in the case of the Tiverton match, the game being stopped at half-time, is that people just get fed up with being messed around and don't bother to turn out when the games are on.

There were a 101 things I could have done with my day had I known this morning that the game was going to be off, but now I've been left at a loose end.

As I said communication, communication. Just looked again on the club's website and still nothing. Still I suppose as now after 3.00 not likely to put anything on.

I accept at this level lots of tasks at clubs are done on a voluntary basis and we should be grateful to those who are happy to give up their time. But having said that if you are prepared to take on the job it should be done properly. If you look at other clubs websites there is up to date information available. Chippenham's provides the barest of information, if any, and by way of example and please point me in the right direction if I am wrong, but I can't find it anywhere on the site about signing Danny Wring. You would be thinking if you hadn't picked up bits of information round and about, who is he, where did he came from etc etc.

If the website isn't doing what it should be doing, namely keeping the club's fans informed, then close it down.

There's no getting away from the fact that the official website provides a very poor service.

The best advice I can give anyone on how to find out whats happening with the players is to invest 65 pence and buy a Western Daily Press on a Saturday, their local non-league coverage really is excellent.

To be fair, BBC Wiltshire did say it was off at around 1.45, but i dont know after that as i went out to watch some non-league rugby!!

As for club website, id happily update it if games off etc if i was allowed or told i could!

Livid with the lateness of the decision. Why an earth did they not mention anythhing?

Not having a dig at their fans, who I imagine will be just as frustrated, but that club are disgusting. Some woman in a yellow jacket just kept whining 'dont blame me, don't blame me'. She then pointed us in the direction of the Chairman who was walking by. Well was a gent he was. No apology for their complete ineptitude and lack of communication, and he was so rude he walked off mid conversation. Total twat. There was much more they could have done to save a complete wasted day. Paying the clubs expenses is the least they should do. Will they do it for the fans. I very much doubt it.

We tried to make the most of the day by watching the second half of Oxford City v Leamington. Hard to get excited about it. 1-1 in the end I thought City were better than both teams although they will be tough next month.

Bad day all round

What a fixture pile up now. With all this health and safety nonsence sure the season must be extended by a week or all teams will be playing three times a week and injuries occuring.

Everyone's blaming the club for the late postponement, surely the referee is partly if not fully responsible for calling it off so late.

--------------------
A car pulls up at the traffic lights. A small boy sits in the back and gazes silently out of the window, a pensive look on his face, while his father drums his fingers on the steering wheel. The hush is broken when the boy, a pleading, inquisitive tone in his voice, says: "Papa?" A sigh, a hint of resignation: here comes another one of those questions your kids ask that you can't answer. "Yes, son." "Why," asks the boy, "do we support Atleti Chippenham?" The silence deepens, his father is stumped. There is no answer, no logical explanation. Why do we support Atlético Madrid Chippenham Town?

Have to say I have some sympathy with this if not the way it's expressed. Hardly the same I know but I was pretty po just driving from Bassett to get a text when I was on the Chip one way system to say it was off. That was at 14.05 approx so all those poor s**s who travelled from Cambridge have a right to feel grieved. It simply isn't good enough and as someone said, there was nothing on the CTFC website which generally is worse than useless. The club's communication has been pretty poor all through this winter period and it ain't the first time this winter that I've set out only to have to turn back because of late decisions about the state of the pitch. The club should have known that if the pitch was in the same condititon as the Lemmings postponed fixture or Tivvy then it wasn't going to be playable today and at least should have posted that early on the CTFC website and told the City. After all when I checked the Zamaretto league web site at 13.15 there were 3 games already postponed in our league and, guess what, one of those was Submarine!

Tough on you City and on the Chip fans including me who also had a wasted trip! 0 out of 10 CTFC and must try harder - as my old school masters would say!

Just to let everyone know that I can only put information on the website as an when I receive it, I find it very insulting to say that that web site is never up to date because I know that is not true, I put the information on the website and the forum as soon as I receive it.

I checked before I left my home to make sure the match was still on and was told it was.

I was all ready at the ground when the game was called off so I can not be in two places at once and by the time I got back it would have been too late to make any difference to anyone travelling to the match.

I suggest you think before you make snide comments like you have today or you will have no one running the website after all I do this purely as a volunteer and in my spare time.

Just as a note
My mother has been very ill in hospital over this 7 weeks and I have spent lots of time travelling to and from Bath Hospital but I still tried to put the information on the site when I received it.

And thats why you need more than one person with access to the site, or the ability to login at the club.

And while i'm at it. If your customers are saying you're wrong, then you are wrong. But same old chippenham - cannot take criticism.

pure fustration for players, fans and directors of chippenham with another match being called off. knowing how far the other team had to travel the buck stops with the ref surely he should have decided much earlier to call it off giving the past problems they've had.
it seems to me that the directors are desperate to get a match under their belts so are waiting to the last minute to call the game off and in the end its costing money for cambridges travelling

i reckon tuesday the 16th of february for cambridge putting the shield match against supermarine to the wednesday

Sorry the point is that if the website cannot provide up to date relevant information then it would be better if it provided nothing at all ie did not exist
