First 80 minutes saw some good individual play but nothing could go right in front of goal. Evesham took the lead on their only chance, very frustrating for the blues, and not a lot to talk about with the exception of the ref, and still trying to workout what planet he was from.
last 10 minutes and on came Alan Griffin to shake them up a bit, and within minutes he did the job with a chip from outside the area into the back of the net. And with just 5 minutes to go Powell got the winner. 3 points job done. Attendance 298? -------------------- VISIT OUR-CHIPPENHAM WEBSITE - OF YOU HAVE ANY OLD PHOTOS OF THE TOWN THEN POST THEM HERE

He was.

Seeing as for 80 minutes we were pretty bad, i think that to be able to keep trying and then getting the break through and win the game shows alot of character from the players. Overall a poor performance but well done lads for another 3 points!

I think you're right, although of course we came from behind at Havant. -------------------- A car pulls up at the traffic lights. My take on the match was that we were OK for the 1st 45 and then the wheels came off. Snoddy was supeb thank god and kept the defecit down to 1 when it could have been 3. Powell was my other option for MOM and not for scoring but for his tireless running and chasing - he was hardly fed a decent ball in the second half and fought for everything and then held the ball. Griffs goal was a header not a chip and must have been a speculative effort when you see how far and high it went before dropping vertically under the bar. We very much missed Luke's power runs and although Wring looked good in the first half he went awol after the break. Thought James Martin had a decent game as well. Poor play but good battling and that is worth a lot.

Poor play but good battling and that is worth a lot. My take on the game was first 45 minutes fairly even but the play seemed very disjointly. Second half was like having teeth pulled. Absolutely terrible. Whilst Evesham weren't that great either they were well organised and had us bottled up. I'm afraid another example ( and how many times have different people on this site said the same) of very bad use ( or non use) of the subs. 10 minutes into the half second it was obvious that things were going down hill quickly and a change was needed. At that stage about the only outfield player who was justifying his place was Powell. Taking off Highmore and bringing Griff on ( eventually) was the right move as wasn't really Highmore's night. But subbing Kite was a bit puzzling. He was playing out of position at right back and didn't look comfortable so why not put him in the middle of defence and take Casey off. Whilst Casey gives 100% Kite is a better player as he should be giving he is on loan from a league club. Does anyone know why Lamb has been on the bench for the last two games? Has he fallen out with Adie Mings or is he injuried. No disrepect to Greg Tindle but Lamb is a far better player and anyway Tindle's best position is centre back so full credit to him for playing out of position. All in all terrible performance and 3 points stolen. But I suppose that makes up for goodness knows how many games we have had points nicked from us. Given our inconsistency, last week excellent game, last night dire Saturday's game should be a stormer!!! |

[/quote] why is it do you think, is it adie playing a different team each game, and leaving the wrong one's on the bench.i can think of 8 to 9 point's we could be better off now. |

Lamb must of been on the bench for a very good reason, probably an injury? Only guessing, but I would suggest he's one of the first names on the team sheet if fully fit?

The big talking point where I was stood in the second half was the under arm throw in we took and got away with. I can't remember who took it but it was one of those sureal moments when you say " Did that just happen?" I think the player decided that he didn't want to take the throw and threw the ball under arm to an approaching Chippenham player, who instead of picking the ball up he controlled it and crossed it into the Evesham box and it nearly resulted in a goal. The Ref didn't see it and niether did the linesman. How did we get away with that?
As for the rest of the game, we had a good first half with lots of possession and good passing build up, let down by poor final balls when in shooting postions. After half time we just lost our way and after Evesham scored I couldn't see us coming back. The introduction of Griff changed the game and the last ten minutes we were all over them. I'm not Griff's biggest fan and queried the value of resigning him, but he certainly earned his corn in that game. |

I think it's just the lack of game's, a bit rusty maybe.interresting to see who he start's with at stourbridge up front. if were not doing much by half time will he bring griff on and give him say 30 min. I don't know when harvey's ban come's in,i see he was on the bench again, can't see the point in that, must be fit by now, why not play him. |

Lamby is not injured and totally bewildered as to why he is not playing..........as am i and a few others on here are. Common theme at the club seems to be lack of communication!!
He is banned for Saturdays game (1 match) and then we will see what happens. Tindle has done ok out of position, but he is a better centr half. To his credit Lamby has been fully behind the team even though he is totally P***d off. |
